I just wanted to make sure about this. I have a 1980 el camino with a th350, would I just be able to swap in a 200r4 without changing the crossmember or anything? thanks

Not too sure, but most cars with the 200-4R have a frame extension so that the crossmember is at less of an angle and farther back.

I wanna say you’ll probably need the frame extension and a 200-4R crossmember.

Cross member should work. You need the frame extension. You also need the associated lock up converter stuff and tv cable bracket or eliminate the lock up feature entirely.

Thanks, I'll look into that.

Lots of info on here about that swap. It's pretty easy. The frame extension stuff is here too. Waaaay back in the days of yore, you could buy a kit that had them. Its possible they are available from one of the G-Body specific vendors. You can make them yourself. It's just some square tubing welded behind the factory channel. Nothing exotic
