Update: I replaced the seal and bushing using basic tools.
-lift car, support trans, remove trans crossmember and body brace
-chisel to remove seal
-shove part of rag inside behind bushing
-modified a 3" nail to break bushing at the seam and then extract with pliers
-modify a thick flat washer to use with 36mm(truck hub nut) socket to drive bushing in
-use socket to seat the seal
Definitely it would be easier to have a pro do the job but it's my car and, ultimately, I enjoy working on and with it.
