200r4 to th350 swap

The crossmember can be used, I believe some holes slightly enlarged, a drill fixed it for me. Supposedly a TH350 crossmember can't be used with a 2004R trans but the way you are going works with slight modification. The trans lines can work but are at totally different angles, expect a lot of bending and swearing. I have gone back and forth on my 88, so I have done this both ways on an original 2004R car.

They did two versions of factory cross members and mounts for 2004rs ones are slanted like the th350s and ones that are straight across. Chevy has straight across and bop gbodys cars were slanted. Look on ebay might get luck on a new one or slightly used th350 crossmember is the easiest way.

Have not seen this on BPO's, i currently have an 83 and 88 Olds, two 87 MC SS all with 2004R's and all have crossmember that are straight across

My original 3 speed th200c crossmember and my buddies original drivetrain 83 elco have this one:

And this is MY crossmember. My car was a 231/th20c, his is a 305/th350.
