These 3.3 liter 200 V6's were factory rated at 95 HP and 160 torque which oddly enough was about what a 3.7 liter Slant 6 put out in the same time period with the 1BBL carb. The trouble is the 3.3 didn't make the low end torque that the Chrysler motor did and never seemed quite as peppy. A 3.8 liter 229 is a direct drop in but it hardly seems worth it unless you can find one with low miles for about the same money as fixing your 3.3. Those 229's were good for 115 HP and 175 torque in the early years and 190 in the 83-84 cars. Of course a 4.3 liter V6 adopted with a Quadrajet would be good for 155 HP and 230 torque making it nearly V8 like in power. It just hardly seems worth the effort to do anything to your car if your preparing a 4.3 turbo.
