so i picked up a 4 speed saginaw today i want to put it in lol imma have it checked out before i put it in and im lookin for a hurst shifter

man i cant wait to convert my trans to a stick shift

I hope you'll have better luck finding a used Hurst 4-speed shifter then I did (didn't find one!)! A new one from OPG runs about $400.00   (but that includes the install kit)! OPG sells them for$433.95 but, they're on sale now for $391.95

Do a search and find out what the first gear ratio is in your trans. And, if it was me getting these 4-speeds, I'd keep them both (Saginaws aren't that strong!) IMO.

well i guess i better go to the swapmeet and get the one i seen for 75 bucks LOL

I tried a shifter from a Muncie (with the shifter rods) and it wouldn't work on the saginaw (reverse lever is different). The saginaw 4-speed I have came with a like new Hurst super shifter but it wouldn't work with the bench seat in my El Camino. I then bought a new Hurst shifter. Now I might go with buckets and a console and use the Street Super Shifter.
So,,,,what ever I do, I'll have a shifter to use!
Good luck with your install and have fun rowing 4!

u have a part number for that shifter or a pic..

I'm assuming you're asking about the Street Super Shifter? All I can tell you it was in a 1968 Chevy II Nova (I think it fit the first gen. Camaro also). If your talking about the G-body Hurst shifter, I'll try to get out to my shop Sunday and check the boxes. Okay?
