305 HO V8 Voted worst high performance engine

Jalopnik.com had a poll and asked people what they thought the worst high performance engine of all time was, and the 305 won! http://jalopnik.com/5885685/the-ten-worst-high+performance-engines-of-all-time/gallery/11
as biased as I am it seems odd to beat the Eclipse v6, and the assorted one off and hyper rare engines that were so bad they didn't last for years unlike the 305.

when it comes to the people's vote, popularity plays a large factor. Not everyone knows, say a 301 turbo... but Everyone knows a 305HO

There was once a time, I remember it well, when old hot-rodders were saying "the 305, it's not bad for a new car" ha ha ha. (this was around the time of the 2.5 Iron Duke and the Cadillac HT4100) Someday, all you'll be able to buy will be little electric pods, and the days of the 305 will look pretty good. I hope I'm long gone by then.
