307 HO Choke question. Electric upgrade? Will not kick off high idle

I still feel the absolute best choke is the divorced style. There was a small coil mounted on a pad over the exhaust crossover. Once adjusted, it just worked great all the time. Best of all, being mounted to the manifold, if the motor was still hot, it stayed off. Too bad GM last used that style around 1972. Lacking that, I prefer the electric style. They don't rust, and it is rare for the coil to go bad.
