I put a olds 307 from a 86 cutlass into my 82 regal and have a 307 olds computorized distributor with a non computorized carb the wires on distributor are un pluged. I have never had any problems but have read on this forum that it will cause problems. What kind of issues will i have because of this?

The computerized distributor does not have any mechanical or vacuum advance functions. The computer normally sets the advance curve based on the MAP sensor and the TPS. The ignition module DOES have a "limp home" mode that provides some mechanical advance based on engine RPM only if the signal from the computer is lost (like having the connector unplugged). The engine will run, but it will be far from optimum. Get a non-computer HEI.

So do any gbody olds cutlass have non computorized distributors or will i have to pull/buy one for a olds 350 from a 70s-77 model oldsmobile. Dont think any gbodys olds came non computerized but i could be wrong.
