have a 350 5.7 out a 94 gmc sierra truck can i put this motor in my 85 cutty
i have a holly intake and edelbrock 650 carb will this work and what kinda tanny would work
please hlp

yes it will fit in it and i would look for a turbo 350 short tail transmission but i would also go with a hei distributer

You will also need to watch the center four intake bolts, they are at a slightly different angle than the others. May need to take a grinder to it.
edit- Unless the intake you have is for 88-95 trucks.

well in an 85 cutty you might have a 200-4r, if so i'd stick with it. you may want to put in a shift kit though.

that all depends on if it has the universal bellhousing but im not sure but ive been told a th350 is more durable but like i said im not sure but others will chime in on that and a th350 is cheaper if you wanted 2 run a stall converter and i think its easier to instal a shift kit in but thats just my opinion buy the overdrive would also be nice for fuel mileage

by 85 it should be the universal. while the th350 is more durable, the 200-4r can hold up to quite a bit with just a shift kit. also, if he already has the 200-4r, why change it? that would also be the cheapest option.
as long as he makes sure the carb geometry is correct for the TV cable it will be fine.

if its universal for that year i agree with you id keep it
