yea you cant always trust what people say... I bought a motor from a guy once... He told me "It runs great... only reason i pulled it is because I built a 427 to replace it." I decided to "freshen it up" just to make it last a lil longer... When I pulled the head I found one of the long Q-jet bolts sticking out of one of the intake valves... There was a pretty big knick in the top of the piston too... so needless to say, I rebuilt it...
