I have a 350 in my Monte with an Edelbrock carb and intake. At wot it cuts out like no fuel and comes back when i let off.Doesnt backfire, just acts like im not geting fuel.any sugestions?

what's your ignition system? does it cut out at high rpms or will it do it low?

just high rpms and not all the time.just a basic jegs dist w talor wires.if i just normaly clime the rpms like leave it in first, its fine. Its only when i romp on it or put it in first going 30 or so that it does this.Oh i have a th350.

I would start with checking your fuel filter. Or maybe your fuel pump is on it's way out.

x2 but i also wonder if it's the ignition cutting out, like a rev limiter or just a coil that can't handle 6k+rpms

True. How high are your RPMs at when this is happening?

My transmission shifts about 4500 or so at wot.And if im manually shifting i have my shift light set at 4500 and never shift above that.

actually i just thought of something, if it's OK during a slow ramp up, but a sharp increase in power kills it, it could be something with the vac signal to the dist. when you stab the throttle your vac signal drops (manifold vac). if the dist wants to see some vac at WOT (ported) you'll lose timing advance. when you lose the advance the fuel will ignite too late to push the pistons, that will feel like you lost all power/fuel.
it depends on the type of dist and what signal it wants.
sorry if i rambled a bit, hangovers suck!

I am having this EXACT same problem, i've got a 350 with an Edelbrock 750 Performer, if i rev it up slowly its fine, but when i stomp on it, even when the transmission isen't engaged (sometimes), it'll cut out the exact same way.

I'm replacing my fuel pump because i think that has something to do with it, but you might want to also check your float bowls, because after i re calibrated mine the problem got alittle better.

Also i've got the vac advance on my dist hooked up to the "3/16 manifold vac" port on my edelbrock, which is the one on the right side of the carb if the engine is facing you.

Hopefully some of this helps you, i'll update you on if the new fuel pump solves my issue.

Maybe you 2 just have carbs that are to big? Just a guess.
