It has the improved 205 ft/lbs of the Olds 260 over the 3.8 with 20 extra HP, best of both worlds for an economy engine. I would add 2" duals and 3.42 gears minimum. Both did wonders to the Oldz 260 in my 88 CSC. I get very good in town mileage. I am putting a stock junkyard 2004R back in for highway mileage, should see 25 mpg easy. What trans is in the car?

Nice. I did not know that the real got the 4.1 I thought that only the leaders and bigger cars got them.
with a little bit of work it should get along well.

My brothers lightly optioned '82 G.P. he had in the '90's had the 4.1 (until he killed it by adding too much oil checking it on a steep hill-he is far from a car guy.)

Anyone know where I can find a under hood wiring schematic for my 84. A lot of lose wiring not going to anything. Trying to get it right. Also any other wiring diagrams would be useful for futher reference. Thanks in advance

I have the vacume diagram I can send you when u get home tonight.

I'll be building up a 4.1 in the future to replace my 3.8.

Here is the vacume diagram incase anyone needs it.
