The vin code "F" 260 2 BBL Olds V8 was factory rated at only 105 HP and came with pathetic 2.29:1 rear gears so performance will be very sluggish. I owned a 1981 2 door with this same engine and it had the THM 350 trans and the little old man I bought it from said it was all original and never had any transmission or engine work with 96K original miles. I have crawled under other 81's and 82's and have seen both 200 Metric trannys and THM 350's also so if seemed to vary. The 350 trannys have larger more square pans and the 200's are smaller pans with a slight cut off and say "Metric" right on the pan it'self.
