Hey everyone!

First things first: thanks in advance for any help, greatly appreciated.

Okay, I have a fully rebuilt Gen VI 454 Big Block. It came out of a '98 truck, but I rebuilt it from the crank up, new pistons, bearings, rings, the whole 9 plus a beefier cam. Anyway, I originally intended to just sell the engine to make some cash, but now I'm STRONGLY considering buying a G-body roller and putting it in that. My question is: will the truck style oil pan fit an 80s G-Body? I found a few good roller candidates in my area, '84-'87 model years and I just want to have as much info beforehand as possible. If the truck style oil pan WILL NOT fit as-is, can someine tell me what style/brand oil pan I will need instead?

I searched these forums for an answer but all I could find were BBC swaps with 70s-era Gen 4s into Gen 1 Monte Carlos. If someone has a link to what I'm asking for, please help me out and post it. Otherwise I appreciate the input!

Truck pan will not fit, it drops to soon and fast towards the sump.. would need notch to work

This is the pan I run with my MK6 block. Only thing I don't like is drain plug faces forward, everything clears through

This is the answer. A truck pan will not fit. It has been done if you can cut an weld, you can notch the front of the pan to be more of a straight 90 degree to clear the crossmember. Otherwise, it will need a dedicated car pan.
