I've seen it before, a buddy of mine actually had one with a v6 and a th-400.

4L80E came out in 1991, that truck is a 1990 so that's correct for it. I thought the truck was newer just went back and looked.

4L80 didn't come out until 1992. Seems like a good excuse for a swap though.

Yep.. Plus the 454 is not the TBI 454. So wanna bet this was a pull from older unit and they just put TBI on it. It has TBI, but the old school big block... Might be a 396 if it is fine by me. I was hoping for 4L80 but th400 is ok. I'll get some pics tomorrow. Put Batt in it... Fired right up, oil looks good. Only had about 30 min to play with it today.

Maybe put a TH200 behind it and neutral drop it from about 3500. Should be good for a laugh.

I think it was like the 4L60/E.. 1991 was the first year and the E model was 1992, I just know everything I've seen said 1991 was when it was out from GM.
