my question is..... has anyone done this ....
if so what parts would i need? brackets ect.
id like to obtain stock manifolds

id like to add cam, intake, distributor ect

any an all info is a welcoming thing

Thanks jeremy

Actually, go to www.442.com and click on the Tech Board. Under the G-Body board there's a thread about this going on right now.

The GP403 used to be the GP455 a couple times in its history 😀 IIRC the swap is fairly straightforward, especially if you're starting with an olds engine to begin with, I *think* the mounts are the same, and also (IIRC) the acc. brackets and all bolted up as-is.

I could be wrong. It's been sheesh, ~15 yrs since the 455 was in there and I've slept since then! Keep in mind that thing is *heavy* heavier than the 403 so you'll need some serious springage/shockage to hold it up.

If the brackets came from a 69 350, then they'll fit on the 455 just fine. If you're using the non-A/C alternator bracket (the one on the pass side of the engine), you'll note that the little strut on the front of the bracket can go into one of two holes on the main bracket. One's for small blocks, one's for big blocks. Same thing with the PS bracket. The main bracket bolts to the front cover, so it's the same for both big and small blocks. The triangular stabilizer bracket that runs to the exhaust manifold bolt also has two holes, one for each size motor.

Thanks for you all's help

what about the manifolds... i was told i could get W&Z manifolds or what ones would fit good in the 87

id like to get hedders but do they make any hedders that set inside the frame rails ?

again Thanks for the help an info
Jeremy

W/Z manifolds should work fine. Repros are now available.

i took the AC off my car when i put the 350 in it.. i still have a complete 307 but its junk still has all brackets

i would like to keep this mainly stock build with HV oil pump but with some aftermarket parts such as.. cam, intake, carb, distributor
what size cam should i go with? a semi rough idle 515 lift or whatever
good set of heads.. what ones should i look out for??
im goin to keep it HEI an still run the th350

thanks jeremy

( sorry i keep askin these questions but i plan on doin this 455 in my car an want to learn all the ins an outs i can )

Let me all of your questions so I can answer them all at the same time. Ive swapped a 455 into two different gbodys
