455 w/ 200-4r question

I will have to look at that calculator. I was just going by my past experience. The Buick 455 has a pretty big touque curve down low and I would thing the Olds does too as it was used to move the big 88's n 98's. The Buick stuff falls off the faster you spin it(stock ports only flow so much). I have known guys to lose et by going to a 3.73 from a 3.23 or a 3.42. I am considering a 3.08 gear(and a 26" tall tire) for my GS if I keep the th400 though I have a 2004r in my shed I want to put in it one of these days. If I do decide to go to the 2004r i think I would want to go to a 3.55 and a taller tire(maybe 28" tall) .

On a side note I have a couple of questions about your cars. Do you mind if I pm to avoid getting off topic here? TIA

Sure PM me.
