Hello , My friend just finished his 496 stroker and there is alot of blue smoke. I was thinking it could be the piston rings . Can some one give a me idea what it could be :?:
pontiacgp said:could be a broken ring....have you done a compression and leak down test?
pontiacgp said:"alot of blue smoke" is a relative statement and how long did he run the engine?..it could be as simple as the rings havn't seated yet
bjohn07 said:could be piston rings or valve seals. when yall installed the piston rings did yall gap them correctly and install the in the correct position to the wrist pin centerline
yeah, if i paid someone to build it and it started smokin i would for sure take it back to them. call that guy to have him come look at it. im sure if he builds engines he will have a compression guage and leak down kit.pontiacgp said:If some guy built it why not just take it back to him before you do anything or he may claim that whatever you did caused the damage to protect his a$$
