Granted the 700R4 thats currently in the malibu is a 1991unit, taken from the code stamped on the upper pan rail on the passenger side, im sure it has the larger input shaft, not sure the stall of the converter though.
I like to experiment for the better... i know just a stock rebuild of the 4L60E isnt much, i dont plan on racing it, doing burnouts, its just a light throttle cruiser at all times. We'll see how long the trans lasts on its own, be nice to be able to program the shift points and not having to worry about setting up a govenor or using a TV cable that could kill if not adjusted properly. I'll be keeping the working 700R4 on the side till the 383cid comes, then get the 4L60E built proper to handle it, then in goes the Edelbrock ProFlo 4 EFI system to go along with it for the total makeover, thats the plan any way. figure i'll do what i can, while i still can, not that theres anything wrong with me, other than just getting older.
