fellas - looks like rebushing the butterfly shaft did the trick.

there was a LOT of slop in it. while it was being done i went ahead and rebuilt the rest of it. i have had a lot of q-jets, afb, holleys (stopped using holleys years ago) but i've never had a tbi. these things are a breeze to rebuild! i love that. and if you go to autozone for the kit they carry good ol' gp sorenson kits - kinda pricey at $30 though.

anyway i took the car on a 50 mile city loop test drive - it's slicker than slobber now.
