6L80 Transmission in a G body?

[L92 OLDS]

Has anyone done this sucessfully? I'm curious if it can be done without hacking up factory sheet metal. The 6L80 looks BIG.

I don't think it can be done without some fab work to the tunnel. IIRC, someone is doing a LY6 and 6L90 in to a 88 Monte SS on another board.

This is the thread is was referring to. Very cool build IMO.
If you go through all of it, you will see he ended up with 6L90.

Thanks for the link. Funny, I tried a google search before posting but it didn't come up. Anyway, it looks like an interesting project but
way too much hacking for my liking.

the 6L90 is being replaced with the 8l90. It is in the 2015 Corvette. 8 speed automatic, that should be a beast!

I now want to tear out the th350 in my car, beat it with a sledgehammer and put in anything with an OD gear. TCI has a 4l80e converted into a 6 speed automatic but it's hella expensive. I'm putting an OD trans in the car, this 3 speed sh*t is for the birds.
