Cross member is different. I put mine in a Regal( not sure on other models) and the bellhousing was tight/touching the firewall lip seam in a couple places. I just rolled the edge of it for clearance. I also had a tight fitment of my speedo drive, but when I switched to electric sender it was fine. I also have a custom torque brace from rear end to trans snout that requires bolts in place before I put the rear of trans up in tunnel. I also used flex braided hose for the trans fluid lines for easier access and routing.

thanx man..my current(keeper) car has a bone stock 305 and 2.29 gears on a 200m..not much giddy up there, this combo is gonna be fun. the mtr/trny are coming out of another g body so i suspect maybee an 8.5 rear..i might try and bundle in the rear as a package..if not i have a 7.6 rear out of a ss monty with 3.73s and it has a brand new auburn unit..i guess the proper drivshaft length will be determined by what rear?
thanx

Just a note 700R4 does not need a shorter gear ratio like a TH350 to get out of the hole. With a 3:73 rear end 1st gear will soar the rpm's like a ballistic missile. Just watch the rpm's and don't miss your shift.

I think 3.23 or 3.42 would be optimal. General rule of thumb for a street car is to aim for a 10:1 compound first. 700R4 has 3.06.
3.06 X 3.08 = 9.425
3.06 X 3.23 = 9.883
3.06 X 3.42 = 10.465
3.06 X 3.73 = 11.414
3.06 X 4.11 = 12.577

what kind of electronic sender r u using for your speedo? I am running a 700r4 also and my cable melted on the headers. I do have the OE cluster set up. BTW my car has a 4.10 behind the 700r4 you should see mine wind up!!!
