700r4 tail shaft cracks / problem

i just picked up a 700r4 trans for my elco & i just noticed that the tail shaft has little cracks :evil: could i still run it like this

i looked at it real close and i cannot tell if its cracked all the way through. if its cracked all the way through wouldn't oil leak from it?
 
Looks like the bushing is floating in there. Almost like the drive came loose and flung around back and forth. I would replace the extension housing and hopefully the tailshaft isn't bent.

I'd be afraid of that. In the upper right corner it looks like something caused some run out on the yoke. You can probably pick up a tail housing at the wrecking yard. If it has a bent output shaft, that will require a "bit" more work.
