The fender emblems say SSJ with a HURST sticker.
The VIN # is 276571A169103

I doubt this is a real HURST GP , as only 157 or so where made that yr. but you never know eh, it is a fairly low mile(78000) 455. Any help with info. on this would be welcomed and appreciated, thanks in advance

I'd have my doubts. Its missing too many of the Hurst giveaways, like the gold wheels, gold paint on the truck/hood, and the hurst emblems are possibly in the wrong place, if this is to be believed. Of course sometimes the brochures didn't line up with what was actually produced....

Its possible it'd been repainted in the past and the gold left off, and the emblems put back on wrong, and the wheels repainted black...(they're the wrong color for regular rally's..) but that would be silly 😀

It's got the buckets, 455, and sport mirrors... There's got to be a quick way to find out for sure. The long way would be to go to PHS and/or Hurst with the vin....

(/me reads some more)

From what I'm reading, its probably a dealer (or someone else)-cloned SSJ. The VIN wouldn't give up anything useful, as the Hurst cars were just regular SSJ's shipped off to Hurst for the mods.

Looks to be in decent shape in any case!

Eh..I know some people like them, but the first generation GP's are two bug-eye for me. Along with the 73-75 GPs and to a somewhat lesser extent MC. Still a cool car though. Hopefully its worth something, you really dont see to many first generation GPs.

You could even get em with fun stuff like tripower 421s and such.
I like the OLD old ones better than the late 60's - '77 for sure!

Thanks, I didnt know that. Those are pretty cool looking. I thought the cutlass was the oldest in the MC/GP/Cutty/Regal line up.

I found this article in High Performance Pontiac magazine

To the best of Morton's recollection, most SSJs were white, but a fair number were black. He says Hurst did produce at least one dark-green SSJ in 1972 (see "33rd Annual POCI Convention," Feb. '06) and that a few other colors may have slipped through. Morton also suggested that because the SSJ package was copied so well, there may appear to be authentic SSJs in other colors, but that wasn't always the case. Original documentation may be the only way to verify authenticity.

Conclusion
Popularity of the SSJ Grand Prix has soared over the past several years, and a countless number of historical perspectives have surfaced in that time. But since hearing about the potentially bogus SSJs from a key figure within the company, we can only look back with skepticism at a few of the questionable cars we have seen on the market in recent years. We might suggest that if you find yourself in the midst of an SSJ Grand Prix purchase, and have any reason to doubt its validity, submit its VIN to Pontiac Historic Services (www.phs-online.com)-an authentic SSJ Grand Prix should have Hurst Performance in Southfield, Michigan, as its delivery destination.

NICE CAR!!

Since this is a GBody forum, did ya know there was a SSJ GP GBody?

nevar!! Only a drawing or two. Unfortunately.

I noticed what appear to be Ontario historic vehicle license plates on it. If you don't mind me asking, whereabouts is the car located?

If you like those cars, and the price is reasonable for the condition, just go ahead and get it. If the price is not adjusted higher for being an SSJ by the owner, you have little to loose.

Also, I believe I remember hearing somewhere that these Grand Pix and Monte Carlo models were also called G bodies by GM, but I could be mistaken. They may have been "A Specials".
