My vote is go for the 72' Olds 350. Swapping to a Chevy will be costly and your "transmission" could be really ugly and may not bolt up 😱 View attachment 62881
Awesome🙂. The 72 Olds 350 is a great motor. It has a much stronger block and crank than any 307. Also the 72 7a heads are good flowing heads. See if the owner remembers what pistons and cam were used in the overhaul or on the paper work. Even at stock specs, 8 to 1 with the tiny cam, it would be similar to the 307 HO. They must have custom pistons or milled to get compression in that 307 to make 270 HP. The Olds 350 will bolt right in place of your 307.
