so now i got the shell back on and got her to run and decided to drive it around the block befor sending it to paint.i used a milk crate for a seat and it ran well.lol notice the guages on top of the valve cover.nice touch.

so the car was off to paint.my paint guy has a family and a day job but i was in no hurry after all its taken more than 15 years to get it to this point.the body is solid now but lots of dings and dents.he worked on it whenever he could a little at a time.he is a member of hoca and ownes a few h/o's himself and has a line of people a mile long that want there cars done by him.he is very good at what he does .im lucky i guess that i was able to get it done by him.he has painted several show winner cars with perfect scores on body.you can see how sharp the lines are.

well after allmost a year the car was ready for primer.im not sure what all was involved in this process but it was allot of block sanding/polly and more block sanding and more polly.

so it got primered.next is the paint i think 2 or 3 coats and sanded between each coat.man this thing looks awsome.im so excited.in the second pic,you can see the doors in the background not painted yet.stay tuned.the re assembly is next.

thank you.its taken many years and many dollars to get it to this point.its websites like this where i see guys restoring theire pride and joy rides that keeps me going.
 
that is one badass car, its sweet that you've gone through all that time and money to save it. keep us posted bro...

My thoughts exactly. I'm starting to ramp up on a similar long term (re)build that's been creeping along for almost 13 years now. Look for a build thread soon. Nice work so far on yours. It's gonna be beautiful. The mid70s cars don't get enough attention but look outstanding when done well like yours will be.
