78-80 Cutlass Budget Build

Thank you for all of the compliments. I took on a new job at a restoration shop and we are slammed so this buld is at a crwl presently. I am going to try and get the black car off the frame and start prepping the body and such. In the meantime I brought another old guy home-guess I have a g-body addiction. 1979 Monte Carlo to drive around while I work on my cutlass. Currently it has a 350/350 turbo chevy motor but I think this one may be a good candidate for an ls swap after my cutlass is complete. So I will leave you with a few photos of the cutlass and a few of the new "beater".

So I finally got some time to spend with my olds project. I got the 1979 with bad frame in and have lifted the body off so I can start stripping it and getting it ready for sheet metal work. I got the doghouse stripped off the 1980 with good frame so next is to pull the driveline out of it and get the cobbed up bondo mess of a body out of there. Short but sweet and more to come as I am vowing to donate more time to my olds this year!

Here are some pics of the donor car off the frame and pics of the donor cars rotted frame. Its a shame that someone let this car sit and rot....

Just went through this thread, nice work so far. 1 thing I noticed on the non-donor car, is all of the molding studs on the roof and side panels. Looks like this car might have had the s.s. roof panel treatment.

Wow that could be. I will have to find out somehow. I know those are rare cars and would hate to cut something up that someone would want to save.

So this build just kicked into high gear thanks to Tobyp and Brian from gbodyparts. I picked up another 1979 Olds that all the sheetmetal work has been done and the frame has been blasted, painted and all new brake/fuel lines have been run. Here are pics of the new addition to my gbody family. I am going to combine this guy and all the good parts from the other 2. I guess we will have to call this guy frankenstein. Thanks again Toby and Brian for making this happen!
