its it possible to take the front and back off a newer regal like a 85 with the dual headlights and put it on my 78 regal? i hate the front and the rear of my 78 and want it more like the one on the grand national. what would it take to swap?

Measuring tape, sawzall, welder, body filler= Anything is possible.

If you hate the '78 Regal so much, then sell it and buy an '81-'87 Regal.

well i guess i took that too far, i dont really "hate" it? just prefer some of the things of the newer ones like the front and rear but have no problem with the 78. i can deal with how it looks, just want something unique. i mainly need to know if the later regal fenders match up with the 78's door line. if not id have to just modify the existing grill a bit. that wouldnt be too hard but im really lost on the best way to tackle the tail end?

An '81-'87 front clip will not match your car's body.

Just put a 1980 4-headlight nose on it and call it done.

Sectioning on a full rear clip from a later car would require an incredible amount of fabrication and welding to make it work.

The '78-80's are unique. No other g-body has those tail lights. The 78-79's have nice grilles, the '80 is a one year design too. I had a '80 Regal with a Poncho 400 in it and I loved that car. You can find the turbo hoods for those much cheaper than the 81-87 style too. I think the bumper fillers even cost less for that year.

If you don't like it, then you just don't. Like Blake said, if you want the quad light set-up the '80 is your best bet. You're stuck with the tail lights.

How can you not love these cars???

The tail lights are one of my favorite parts of the '78.

i can make the front how i want but ill have to get creative with the back, i like the slash of light on the side but looking directly from the back it looks very plain to me. i think the newer ones look very muscular and thats the look im going for
