78 cutlass W-31 build

This is a stock 403 short block, correct? Even with a 64cc chamber and Felpro gaskets, you will only be at 9 to 1. I was at 9+ to 1 with the small 204/214 cam, no issues on 91. The #6 heads had 2.07/1.56" valves with the bowls opened. You are using a manual trans 350/442 auto cam, like 217/218 duration? If the rod bearings weren't toast, should have checked them first, supposedly had a tick, assumed lifters or exhaust. I replaced the rod bearings, showing copper and main bearings, looked OK, no more clatter but still shitty oil pressure warm. The crank need turned and new bearings. Shitty with the 1600 stall and 2.78 gears. Easy 1/4 block one wheel peeling with a 2350 stall and better 2.74 first gear.

Went on a road trip with Mark today up to Massachusetts to help him load a rented trailer with machines he bought for his shop. Didn't exactly know what we were getting into but well worth it considering what he's doing for me. He brought some heavy things that I'm still not sure what they are and a quick way head shop that I'll be learning to use tomorrow. Well I guess later today now. Man it's been a long day!

Are you doing a 1.625" exhaust valve?

Went back to marks tonight with Lauren and made a plan for later this week or the weekend. Kinda depends when the crucible and smelter oven i ordered comes in. It should make some good videos content lol I seen a video online and I'm going to try it.

Fun with fire! At the machine shop today. Video footage to come and I think Lauren took a few photos. We melted down an aluminum rod and some old jet ski pistons and filled the crossovers and bowls on both #6 heads and the #7 heads now we can properly reshape the bowls and the egr is blocked. I know guys run aluminum heads now mine are aluminum filled lol aluminum injected heads lol anyway there's some video being edited and I'm waiting for Lauren to send me some screenshots. It went well and amazingly quiet easy.

Here we go some photos of us putting 2 stroke parts in an olds motor.

So most of what you see there is one of my #7 heads I will be using the #6 heads and selling the #7 heads for money to finish the project. In fact I will be selling the std bore 70 block pistons and manual trans crankshaft that needs to be cut and the 71 350 block needs to be bore at least 20 crank is good already cut 10 and also manual trans. So both sets of heads are getting crossovers filled bowls and ports shaped and cleaned up hardened seats and 2" intake valves screw in studs and comp guide plates. Mine will as also have polished chambers I may mill them I want to check pistons to deck first. Hopefully I sell my old stuff quickly so I can keep the project rolling.

Sorry guys no progress money is tight hours at work are actually cut back under 40 so I can't order anything. Mark is going on vacation tomorrow with his family so I'm doing some work around the house and looking for things to sell. Anybody need sbo parts? I know a guy lol
