A period once in a while is a wonderful thing, as is proper capitalization. [/grammar Nazi]

Anyhow, I would be sure that the radiator takes up the full width of the core support and is not short by about 8-10 inches. If it is, then you had a V6 radiator rebuilt and do not have sufficient volume.

Ok, so you had a new 3 row, now a 4 row radiator, dual pulling electric fans, and a 180* stat. And it'll idle all day long and don't get hot till start driving it, and it don't cool back down.

If it actually has 500hp what oct gas are you running? whats the cranking compression? What spark plugs, and what gap? How do they look? Are you running any underdrive pullies? Are you running a stock HEI ignition? Has it been recurved?

Switch to 160* stat. But it all sounds more like an ignition, and fuel issue!

Blake, there is no reason for your's or his to run any hotter than 210*

Since when did any G body come with anything bigger than a three core from the factory? Since you stated it is a rebuilt Malibu radiator and did not state what it started out as, I was questioning what the original application was for the radiator you had recored.

It doesn't. 😀
When it was getting hot before, that was with the inadequit radiator, and a bad fan clutch to make it worse.

Now with good parts, it usually hangs out around 195-200* on the road to 210* if stuck in traffic. Never goes higher than 210*. 8)

i am running a msd proi billet dist. and a 6al box with a blaster 2 coil i am runnin 93 oct gas stock pullies bosch platinum plugs with a .060 gap i switched to a 160 t stat and it runs bout 190-200 range cruising and creeps up to 210 if i get stuck idling somewhere oh yea the total advance is set at 32 degrees

Alright John,

What compression are you running? and what pistons, and heads; steel or aluminum?

My guess is if its running on 93oct, you have Speed Pro/TRW pistons, and C, or J heads.

If that's the case toss the Bosch Plugs, and install NGK B7S and gap them at 0.045". You'll be good to go! even try 36* total timing at 3000rpm
