I have the rally gauge package. And my tach reads 400rpm too high. Yes the switch is in the "8" spot for my 305. It just reads high. Does anybody know if the tach wire is supposed to go through a resistor? There's a resistor in about the middle of my firewall and it's not hooked up to anything. Any ideas on the size of the tach in the cluster? I may just buy one to fit in that is black and somewhat blends in.

My guess is you just need to soder the jumper for the tach. Typical problem on these.
