Im assuming the wires on an Olds are on the left side ?
This tube made it easy to route the wires away from the headers. Even with 1 3/4" tubes. The wagon was even easier since I used mid lengths.
The battery cable comes down and goes under the first tube by the motor mount. I ran it that way on both cars. Even used the factory cable clamp.

yeah all of the wiring on the olds is driver side, save for the A/C wiring. no tubes either, just the large loop in the back. there's another clamp above the solenoid that can hold the wires, but it would bring them too close to the headers for my liking..

Forget the the Ford remote starter solenoid. Completely unnecessary unless you want a Ford something under the hood. Ford is good at two things - rear ends and overcomplicating under hood setups 😉

good news!

got everything hooked up - wiring, exhaust, battery, whatever. stuck the key in (with two people watching with fire extinguishers and baking soda) and no problems! it turned over and went for a bit.

turned it off quick tho cause we noticed the new oil filter was leaking. made a post about that over in the Olds section cause i think i have the wrong filter.

two more wires im not sure about. they were disconnected or missing on the old harness.

First one goes with the oil and water sensors. It's the green wire that should be the oil press sensor. looks like it would plug in to that plug there - i can almost make out the broken stump of a connector? do i have this and the water temp backwards?

Second one comes right off the fuse block under the headlight wiring - it goes into a connector and then ends in another connector. looks like it was originally brown or tan. this wire wasnt present on the old harness. Any idea what its for?

TIA

the 9" and the solenoid are the only Ferd products i touch - i probably have a motorcraft hose somewhere if that counts...

the solenoid trick is useful for me because most of my bowties have the battery mounted in the trunk/rear - keeping the cable safe and to spec goes a long way. it's nice to keep the cables cold as much as possible.

for things like the olds driver side mounting or cars that aren't so performance oriented, not a big point to relocate the connection lol

On the engine harness the oil is Tan, the green is temperature,

The tan wire from the body harness is the brake warning light and it goes to the brake proportioning valve.

everything looks squared away. Got the right oil filter and fixed all the stray connectors, and got the wiper motor put back.

I dropped the third bolt for the wiper motor while trying to thread it on there with my 10mm, and they both fell into the corner of the fenderwell. couldn't fish it out and lost sight of em, so i started removing the fenderwell...

not only did i find the bolt and my 10mm, i also found another 10mm in there! looks like the PO mighta made the same mistake i made lol.

the car starts and runs, i think it needs retimed though as it doesn't seem too happy idling. fuel and oil are good.

still a lot to do with this car. once i get the timing dialed in, I'm going to drive it as-is to make sure everything is squaref away.
