I just noticed that I have 2 different oil pans that came with my 350 & I'm now trying to figure out which one would be the best fit. Of course the nicest & dent free one wasn't on the block has to be shallower than the dented one that was on. The front angle is different on both but they both look like they should hold 4 qts. I know pics will tell the tale better but I should have them tomorrow to post. No what issues has anyone else ran into with stock oil pans in our cars.

I would consider getting a new aftermarket pan for the extra capacity. I have bought small block RPC oil pans in kit form off Ebay for $100 which includes a 6+ quart pan with side kickouts, pick up tube, hardened driveshaft and a new Mellings hi volume oil pump. and these pans clear most aftermarket headers.

I kinda been kicking around going that route for extra capacity, but being a near stock engine a stock pan would do. I have been trying track part numbers for both in my big Chevy counter book & cross them online, but no luck.

for an oil pump I use a BB pump that pumps about 15% more oil so you can use that pump with a stock pan and not run out of oil in the pan

Here is the pics of my 2 pans. The black matches what most replacement pans. It has been over torqued so it going to the junk pile. The orange I can't match to anything. It is like new.

Thanks for the input, the main point was the clearance on the crossmember. You wouldn't have an idea what car it would of been used in?
