8.5 rear end

got my 8.5 back today from the shop. moser axles Yukon duragrip 373 gears going black rear with red trailing arms springs ect...........

Sweet. Now you dont ever have to worry about the rearend and babying it lol

got it set in place. still need to install shocks and sway bar and tighten things up.

Looking good!
Just make sure you snug everything up with the car down and the weight on the wheels.
Then you should be good to go.

Wish i could grab a 8.5 one day. Are the axle tubes welded?

I thought about welding mine, but the center is cast iron and you have to heat it with a torch before you can weld the tubes or it cracks.

no they are not welded. i have been looking for a 8.5 for a couple years. i had posted on a few sites i needed one. there was a local guy that had it . it had open rear. got it for 400.00. then spent 1500.00 in rebuild.got the sway bar and shocks in today.
