8.5 trade def worth it? and new motor questions

Ok found a local guy. Has a 8.5 out of an 87 GN.80,000 miles. Factory posi and 3.42 gears. He's getting a d60 wants to trade my stock 7.5 and $600 cuz he needs something to roll car around on

if you are 100% sure it is an 8.5, then its worth it to me... you can always find a stock gbody rear for 100, so your loss on that of 50, isnt much, the 28 spline 8.5 is stronger than the 7.5... and bolts right in

It's Def an 8.5 there easy to spot. Especially when threes one under my truck.
