81 malibu header emblem

I have looked for sometime for a flat header panel emblem with no luck. So i asked my friend who is a jewler if he could make one. Here it is...

Yes it does. It uses the factory nut and also has the locater pin also.

I was thinking about asking him to make a few. I would have to see how much it would cost. And it is time consuming as well.

Seems like quite a few people look for these, might be worth looking into. It's been a long time since I was involved in any foundry stuff, but I would imagine they would be cast from a master which would reduce the time involved for each piece. Of course, there would still be hnd finishing/polishing that would eat some time.

Like lots of others, I have a couple, but they're not anything to get excited about.

I find it odd that they chose to repro the stand-up ornament, which is made of more pieces (and were still turning up NOS pretty regularly), but not the flat one....which seems to be the one everybody wants.
