i have no idea what kind of power it made before it let go but ill find out. I have the first dyno graph which ill post once I find a good scanner. "Doober" I don't kno what you mean by what did I start with. and the engine was 100% stock internally, I guess that was quite a bit to much even though I had plans for a 50shot of nitrous haha.........
I meant boost. Most non intercooled setups I've seen have been around 10psi max, when matched with the proper size turbo. The farther you go outside the peak efficiency zone, air temps heat up and eventually it winds up making less power.

ok I started with 11psi and I know it was a shitty setup but I roll on a budget and try to go with what I have available and at some point I was expecting this to happen since everything I did I learned from google and how the turbo was setup in the 300zx I applied on mine but no worries I have since dropped in a 79 350ci olds. the 350 feels good but I got used to the whine the 260 had and gas milage sucks now, so anyone have idea on aftermarket parts for this engine maybe fuel injection or something in the likes of improved hp, tq, mpg.
That's to bad the other motor came apart, you were probably onto something as far as a daily driver. The fuel economy of the replacement motor is to be expected, cars from that era were built for emissions more so than economy, using an aftermarket fuel injection setup may help slightly with the fuel mileage but you still have a very inefficient motor, things like compression ratio, cam design, head design, etc need to be brought up to today's standards before a big increase can be expected
Fox80 I guess I was onto something but power went up to my head and BOOM! it all went away. the 350olds mpg is a bit better than a stock since I have aftermarket headers on it and a dual exhaust so its not as restricted so far im having issues fitting my spectre dual cold air intake. Are there any other parts I can add to it to increase mpg even if its by a little as this saying "something is better than nothing" Doober it was a fun ride while it lasted but if I had better knowledge and appropriate parts it would of been a blast to drive a beat on my friends v6s, rice burners
Optimum timing and carb tuning will help mpg, driving like an old lady and a cool air source will also help. If the engine is stock or mostly stock, 2¼" exhaust would be all you need, a more aggressive build will do well with 2½".

I dive like an old lady but theres people honking, so I put a decal on the back window saying "be patient im a classic" I have 2 1/4" pipes with an xpipe, instead of muffler I have a glasspack. 😀
You could find a late 70's multiport Olds 350 set up. The system is analog and very out dated. Some have used the manifold, came in iron and aluminum, with modern injectors, gutted TBI with home made adaptor plate for more modern sensors. All ran by a sbc TPI computer. Of course you a need donor harness and 40+ psi fuel pump and sumped tank. Another option is a 88-92 TBI set up, 93 and up have 4L60E tied in, 454 Qjet to TBI adapter and CCC Olds 307 distributor. Only issue is the lazy sbc timing curve, my 94 has maybe 30 degrees. I run 21 base and only 50 part throttle. Low compression Olds V8's like a lot of part throttle timing. Mine would hardly run below 10 base timing.
