83 hurst bogging down need help

car has 39k on it and its been sitting for 9 yrs. stars and idles no problem when put in gear runs shifts and as your building up speed it starts to bog down like it went from 3rd gear to 6th gear to describe what I'm saying. I can put pedal to the floor and car will kick down and get back in gear so to say and go , but once its up there it will go shift back to a bogging down feeling. my tach is not reading right either. I'm not the mechanic so to say so can anyone help ? thanks

to be clear on it i bought the car from a friend. I put a new exhaust on ,new calipers and brakes and filled it with high test gas thats all. I own another one with extremely low milage and had a couple of gbody 442 so i know how they drive

TCC solenoid is hanging up.
Pull the trans pan and replace, Google it...

Any auto part store should have one or be able to get one.

GM part number 8634960 for the TCC solenoid.

Rockauto.com sells it for $50 and change. Saw one on ebay 45.95 shipped. Amazon sells one for $65.90 to your door.

Relatively easy once you drop the pan. Have fun.

Also a great time to change the filter and put a drain plug in the pan.
It will be money well spent.
