I hate rust.. I also hate old seam sealer.. this car has all it's seam sealer failing.. so got the 3M stuff and fixed all the doors, trunk area, etc before I cut in some more with paint. Trying to get a feel for the color and if I like the rocker trim on the car still with this color. I think the metallic is light..and the rockers when polished will overpower the flake.. as of today, I think I'm deleting them. But I keep going back and forth.

Even through I'm pretty sure I found the water leak with the rust, I wanted to make sure I didn't have other issues.. so I pulled the quarter windows too. The contrast between the original color and the new color is interesting.

Now we are all caught up. Last night I pulled the rear glass to again make sure I didn't have rust or other possible water leaks. Well I found some small rust holes which I welded and ground down, as well as a bent window channel. The sealer used near where the window channel was bent was near a 1/4 " thick! I fixed both problems. The car is just about ready for paint.

Right now I am looking to decide on if to keep the rocker chrome trim or delete it. Thoughts?

Delete it IMHO!!! It looks nice, but is notorious for harboring rust! I also think G's just look slicker without them.

Ya i think I'm going to cut the little nubs off this weekend.. That decision has been the only thing holding me back from getting serious on body work.
