basically it's the same as swapping to a SBC except it's an olds, right?

near me there is a running 330 out of a 66, a 73 350, late 70's 403 and a 77 350 with a throttle body that came out of a cadillac.

i'm thinking the best choice is the 330 (i had one before and i love them) and then the 73 350. i think i can even find a 455 but i've been looking at so many engine choices i dont know what engine i really want now. they all have their pros and cons so i'm confused.

olds engines seem to go cheap around here. i think the 403 was yanked out of a T/A.

Make sure the 330 does not have the shaft mounted rockers, since parts are hard to find. Not sure if that is the year that used it or not. What engine you choose will depend on what you are looking to get out of it.

if its a 66 it wont have the shaft mounted rockers. those were on the first year for the 330, 1964.

i am looking through out the entire state for the engine we really want, a cadillac 500, and i have found some. just need to get some money up and i should have one next year if i can find one after i get the money for one.

Cool, wasn't sure what year they used them. Too bad you aren't in Ohio, there was a Cad 500 in the pull a part by me. You could have had one for less than $200.

yeah cleveland is kinda far for me but if i have to i will make the trip! hopefully ill find something here when i have some money.
