Finally my 84 hurst is getting decals put on. Does anyone have any details on heights of decals on doors and trunk for the hurst olds sticker . It’s going to a professional to get the stickers put on so I’d like to give him as much info as possible thanks in advance to anyone who can help

Here's my car in the paint booth before I put the stripes on. Don't quote me on this, but IIRC, I believe the black stripe ended about 3/4" up the door from the body break line and 1/2" around the wheel wells. It was measured when the old stripes came off the original paint. But, the tape lines were wavy AF on the original paint job. Yeesh. I can see why some of the stripes were a bit wavy from the factory sometimes. I'm betting it was to cover up the crappy meeting lines on the body.

Here's an 84 showing that yes, indeed, the black paint went over the wheel wells and inside the edges as well. Note you can see VERY faint paint line under the red near the front arch of the wheel well. The cars were painted silver all over, and they added the black. In fact, the black never ended up on the paint codes found on the body tag or the SPID sticker in the trunk. Only the silver.

To be clear, in case anyone was wondering, if you have a 85-87 442, those cars did NOT have any silver code 12 paint on the upper wheel wells.
