That would all depend on your wants and needs. I really want my heads to be able to flow 300cfm because even at low lift they will outperform stock heads. Your point is very true in that for a cam that operates in that range the amount of dollars spent would not be worth 50 to 60 horsepower. Even saving 75 or 100 pounds of weight is not worth it unless you are trying to really get low times in the 1/4. I built my engine to rev to just under 6800rpm so the flow above 5800 is a desire at the track. On the street even 5800 would be a bit high to rev to every time you drive. I am also using the ram air 4 camshaft which has a range of 2500-6500. My car was running in the mid 11's before I made the move out to New Mexico.

I have a 1987 GP with t-tops that I have a 1977 400 engine I want to install. All I need to get me started are the motor mounts from a 78-81 GP that had a 301. Do any of you guys have a pair laying around to sell? I tried the firebird steel block mounts and they won't "find holes" in the frame anywhere. I do have new rubber frame mounts that are correct for a 78-81 301 GP, so I know I'm only off by the block side engine mounts. I'm new to the board, so if there is a link to someone who sells them by the dozen and I missed it, please forgive me........ 🙂
