85 monte ls sytem help

I'v got a 85 monte carlo ls I'v been workin on for the last year and a half.I just instlleda cd player and subs ,but the guy a bought the car from cut all the wires so i had go by color but one a soild grey wire .But every time i cut the car on i have to re tune the cd player setting adn wanted to know if this gey wire is for the memory ,and what wire to hook it up to.

No it should be yellow. Red should be constant. Just take a volt meter and test the wires with ignition on and off. I think the gray is for power antenna.

i do belive that the gray wire is the factory light , when you turn on your headlights it powers up your instrument panel,a/c and radio and the ashtray light.
