I have a 85 ss Im building. It did have the computer but im eliminating it. What all does the wiring harness from the computer run? Is it just going to the distributer and carb and the few sensors that are on the intake?
Will I be able to just take the computer out of the kick panel and remove the harness from it to the outside of the car under the hood?

thx

The computer monitors the engine and makes adjustments to the carb and distributor. The harness and its sensors can be removed ( and stored ) for future use / sale. Remove the inner wheel well on the PS and you will see where it enters the cabin. The 'puter is behind the kick panel and all the wiring can pull into the vehicle from that point.
You will need to replace the carburetor and distributor with older non-ccc equipment. You will also lose the lockup function on your trans so something as simple as a toggle switch or as complex as a lockup kick will need to put in place. Check engine light will illuminate as well ( until you remove the bulb )

Oh im going with a small block 400 with vortec heads and 750 holley, headers, turbo 350 non lock, so all that is covered.
That is what I was thinking but wasnt sure if it had any control over any of the interior gauges or something to that effect.
Thx

I doesn't, I deleted it in my Aero Coupe, well, I just unhooked it and tucked it over on the passenger side near the a/c stuff for now. For the record the 200R4 will still work. I thought I had a pic of the after, all I could find was this one. Mine got Summit/Dart Vortecs, Performer intake (clears the stock hood), swapped the Demon for an old school Holley. It also got long tubes...never could make the shorty headers seal up and not leak.
