86 cutlass Rear end swap

Im trying to put a posi into an 86 cutlass for my friend,
I got it out of an s10 and got it all shimmed up and in perfect. but then the axles didn't fit.
I can't seem to find axles gears for a posi or axles with the heavier spline that will fit
so I was wondering if a rear end from a 85 camaro would fit without much customization.

is that carrier 7 5/8? I'm thinking it must be and it's a 28 spline if your axles don't fit

yup its 7 5/8 so I need to find 28 spline axles that will fit the carrier,
I found 28 spline axles but they a couple inches longer thats why I was wondering if the Camaro rear end would fit.
or if you know any cars that would have proper length axles with 28 splines
I couldnt find any other g body cars at my local junkyard and all the ten bolts i ripped apart where 7 1/2 carriers

the GN uses 28 spline but they are hard to find...if your budget allows you can get new which are better than the GM axles..

yes..the 28 spline used the same axle bearings....

Im not sure if the GN axel will work because its a 8.5 in.
Isnt the cutlass a 7.5?

the axles is the same as a 7.5 except it has 28 spline

then why does the 7.5 also come in 28 spline?
so is the 8.5 28 spline and the 7.5 28 spline the same?
