I will assume that you kept all the lifters in order to their respective cam lobes
absolutely sir!

AVS = Air Valve Secondary
That will work like you want. Look for some Vortec 7400 L29 454 heads, they have 98cc chambers to make decent compression (9.5 or so) like you are looking for....'96-2000 454 truck motors have them, you can find 'em around here for around $200 or so. The casting numbers are 10141279 and 12560241 they have full sized oval intake ports and a heart shaped combustion chamber.
The other option is 396/402 heads, slap em on the 454 with some rings and bearings and run it. On the cheap until everything lines up budget wise.
The 200R4 from a Monte SS is the best to start with, my buddy has one in a 1965 GS Buick with a 455 and 3.42 gears....working like a champ!
I know you said aluminum heads, Edelbrock does offer some hat have been angle milled for use on flat top 454s that would be awesome. But, if you are going solid roller....hard to beat some big old square ports and big dome pistons!
Looks like a great car and engine to start with. I'll make one recommendation, save the money to buy a roller cam, link bar lifters and springs for two reasons - it is the easiest way to add HP and torque without pushing the compression into unfriendly pump gas territory, and BBC's are THE toughest motor to keep from eating up FT lobes and lifters. You mentioned you want to put it together and not tear it back apart - FT cam in BBC doesn't imply that to me. You should be able to find a Howard's kit and springs for about $700, it will be money well spent.
