Hello all, i have a friend selling his front sway bar off his 87 Grand National. My question is, is it any different/bigger than my stock front sway bar on my 78 Malibu wagon? Thanks for the help.
GNs got the thicker F41 bar. Should be much larger then your wagon bar..
How would one find out if i have the F41 suspension package? Its a 78 Malibu Classic that originally came with a 305 2bbl. I assume F41 is an RPO code?It is in fact a 32mm, or 1 1/4" bar. Your wagon might have a 32mm bar if it has the F41 suspension package...very likely...but not definite.
If you could find the build sheet for it, that would be one way. You could start by measuring the front bar with a vernier caliper, adjustable wrench. I believe the F41 package would have a rear swaybar as well. Cars equipped with a tow package would usually have the F41 package.
Try lifting up your rear seat. That's where I initially found mine. If it's not there, it could be above your headliner board.
Your wagon would have an 1 1/4" front sway bar, a 7/8' rear sway bar, inner fender braces, and probably jounce bars. I it doesn't, I do have these parts available..timo22
