87 ss swap

Ok finally get the wheels rolling on a swap in my 87 mc ss recently purchased a 5.3 from a 02 avalanche and a 4l60e transmission I'm not a mechanic so I don't know what the hell im doing so I will have to flush more money having someone else to do the work I won't be doing a full frame off because of finances but just good enough to be good enough not looking for trophies at least initially anyway I'm already running into issues I called 3 shops near bye who don't do swap work or too scared to but any how I won't be deterred I'm too far in to turn back now ....so wish me luck on this long expensive journey

To be honest the swap is very simple, I've done 90% of my swap with simple hand tools. Save yourself some money and take a crack at it. Plenty of resources available between this forum and ls1tech.

Indeed I may the more and more I read it seems simple I might take more pride in it if I do the wrenching it seems a little overwhelming tho

The swap is almost becoming plug and play with all the aftermarket support, buy a good set of engine mounts, trans crossmember and headers that correspond. Get a decent fuel system to support the fuel injection. The wiring is the tough part, you can get a pre trimmed harness, and if you're doing a naturally aspirated build just send the pcm to a tuner with the mod list and you are pretty much done. I know it's easier said than done lol. Maybe just get the motor and trans in the car and then send it out to the shop for wiring and such if you're not comfortable with that aspect.

That was my original plan to drop it in and then send it to the shop thinking I would be able to save a lil scratch also I'm going carb(I know I know) but I've read its much more cheaper and less wiring...still trying to sort that part out but yea the plug and play aspects make me feel ase certified lol

Definitely check out ls1tech for that info on the carb setup, there's a whole section dedicated to it. I believe you just need an MSD box to control the coils/ignition and I think it runs the sensors. https://www.msdperformance.com/products/ignitions/distributorless/parts/6010

Ok a few updates if I can call it that got some parts in that I ordered and pushed ole' girl out the garage to pretend like I know how to wrench lmao....... got the headers,muscle car oil pan, Msd 6010, intake, 600 cfm electric carb only took a few pics.... But more to come...I got a million questions on how to do some thing I know it people u can pay for this info I.e (mechanics) but I rather get free answers here lol it's a lot of valuable info and informative people on this forum so I'll take my chances

Ok my question list

1.what fuel line runs to the carb its 3 lines on my car two run to the passenger side one to the driver... One on the pass side is plugged with a screw so idk pic 1 is driver side pic 2 is pass side
2. Where the hell do the wires on my starter go I can't find the info I need when I google the one 4 gage wire goes where and the purple wire goes?
3. What is my 12 v source one my fuse box to splice everything to I'm assuming pink with the black stripe on acc on the box but idk and how and where should i splice need it for Msd and carb any help is appreciated
4. Will my trans bolt right to my block? Do I need spacers or converters both are 2002
