98 Z28 Rear End in my 87 Monte SS

A little background info a friend has a 98 Z28 Wrecked Car he pulled the motor and tran but does not need the rear end has disc and a posi rear end. I am just trying to see if this rear end will match up with my monte because he wants less for the rear end than I would pay for a rear Disc Kit.
Would I need to do a lot of Fab work.... Any advise would help alot.

No the rear won't fit, end of story. But I'm sure you can find a way to make those disks
fit.

if you plan to do fab work, that's not the rear you want to modify. if you're going to do some fab work to get a rear to fit, get a 9 inch or an 8.8 out of an explorer. otherwise, do a google search for LS1 rear brakes on a 7.5 10 bolt. they'll fit.
the posi carrier will fit, however. you might just need to get a set of GN shafts for it

Skip the brakes. Score the ring gear, pinion and posi unit. Buy some aftermarket 28 spline GN axles and you'll have a sweet and strong posi rearend.
