I'm a bit of a mix of the answers as well...
I think CW and 307 summed it up pretty well. I'm a creature of habit, and like to deal with certain places/people. I do shop around on pricing, but would rather support buisnesses that are local or involved with supporting certain interests (like companies involved with parts to keep the cars together).

If I were building, say a classic tri-5 chevy, to concours specs, brand products and factory licensing would be a high priority for me, but I'll never be doing that, as I don't intend to ever worry about door dings if I leave it alone for a few minutes... I would preffer to purchase u.s. made products, but I will purchase regardless of where it's made, as long as the quality and reliability is there.

pricing is pretty important, but goes hand in hand with quality... it also comes down to 3 things:
is it-1) the project cars
2) the daily drivers
or 3a)my DD (mid to upper grade)
3b)the wife's DD (hers will get top shelf quality, or I'll NEVER hear the end of it! )
I guess it all comes down to: who from, how good, how much.

Quality. Price only comes into play if it is way out of line. Anything else would be a list of nice to haves that I would us to break a tie between 2 competing parts from different sources.

This statement fits my thought process the best. I have no problem though buying parts that are manufactured in Mexico, China etc as long as the quality is there. Doing this often poses a risk and you can end up having useless crap shipped to your door. I work in manufacturing and have never heard the term "factory licenced" so I have no clue what that means. If it means that the supplier has to PPAP to the OEM specifications & drawings, then it holds some water. I prefer good used parts or NOS if they are available at a reasonable cost. Cost is always a driver regardless of who the supplier is.

Funny, I'm the only person so far who picked the first choice, since it was the closest to how I buy. I always prefer used stuff mostly because it fits best. I bought a Regal recently with a replacement header panel. What a piece of junk that part is.The locations where the nylon screwnuts go are either wrong or the opening is so large they will not stay in. So I bought a "previously enjoyed" part to replace it. The original purchaser I'm sure thought a "new" one was the right way to go. I don't concur.
If it is a licensed product, I would think the fitment should be spot on. I will find out when I buy my front turn signal lenses.
